Ok, so in an attempt to distract myself from craving cigarettes having given up for the new year, I'm making truffles. Not just any truffles you understand, truffles that will be coated in chocolate and edible glitter! Photos are enclosed, recipe is below.
200gms dark chocolate
150ml extra thick double cream
Edible glitter
Cocoa powder
150 gms milk chocolate (for outer layer if required)
Chop up the chocolate into fine pieces and pop them into a large bowl. Bring the cream to a rolling boil and add to the chocolate and stir till melted (you may need to put the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water to melt it further if there are still chunks). RESIST temptation to eat this! (It's called ganache btw). Chill to room temperature and set. Take a teaspoon of the ganache, dust hands with icing sugar and roll into a small ball. Either dust in cocoa powder and edible glitter or dip in melted milk chocolate to form a contrasting crunchy outer case. Done!! Yum......
